Future Change in Step 3 Requirements for Graduates of LCME and AOA accredited- Medical Schools

A new change in Step 3 eligibility requirements is expected to occur in the near future. The current requirements for medical students and graduates of LCME and AOA-accredited schools is that they must take and pass Step 1, 2CK, and Step 2CS before taking Step 3. This applies to those who have graduated in 2005 or after and those who graduated before 2005 but did not pass their Step 2 CK on or before June 30, 2005. After June 30, 2012, the same requirements for Step 3 will still be valid but will now apply to individuals who graduated from medical school in 2004 or prior and those who passed their Step 2 CK on or before June 30, 2005.
