New Software for Computer-Based USMLE

Starting in March 2009, a new version of software for computer-based USMLE Step 3 exams will take effect. First introduced in mid-August 2008, this new software version will eventually transition into all test centers and all Step components of the USMLE. Since the Step 3 examination is a 2-day exam, no Step 3 examinations can be scheduled on the following dates due to the migration: March 9 and 10, 2009, and March 16-22, 2009.
Though the new version will have test scores that are comparable to those exams using the older version, some examinees may experience a delay of score reporting due to the transition. Step 1 is expected to change over to the new test software between May/June 2009. Please visit www.usmle.org for further information and updates regarding this matter.
