Always assume competent pt unless told otherwise. No consent needed for patients under 18 for ER situations, STD treatment, medical care during pregnancy and managment of addiction. So in this case, she gives the consent. Notice I did not mention abortion since this issue varies from state to state so it cannot be tested on the exam. Hope it helps.

Hey i am still not convinced ammar. I think the girl is competent to give consent for pregnancy related procedures. but for all other diseases Parents are the ones who make the decision.

According to Kaplan lectures a pregnat teen will be consdered emancipated from parebts so she will give consent
